AIMpost
Download: aimpost.zip
AIMpost is a WordPress plugin that creates a link to set your AIM away message as an excerpt from any post. It’s useful for personal bloggers who want to update their friends on the latest gossip, professional bloggers who want to increase word-of-mouth advertising, and anyone else who’s just interested in letting AIM users know when they’ve updated.
Download the zip file, unzip it, and put the AIMpost directory in your WordPress plugins directory.
To install AIMpost, copy and paste anywhere within the script that displays the post (most likely in the index.php of your theme). For example, you might want to put it next to your trackback link. The function will display
, a clickable image which will generate an away message based upon the post.

Great plug in by the way. I have been searching the forums on WP and everywhere trying to find a way to be able to post the dafault AIM presence link into a page and into a post but everytime I set it up let’s say in tinymce or just as html, the link get’s re-written to include my blog’s default address… as in if I put in <a href=”Goim?screenname=MyScreenName” rel=”nofollow”> and connect that link to my own image, it keeps re-writing the link to this: <a href=”http://mydomain.com/my_wordpress/aim:Goim?screenname=MyScreenName” rel=”nofollow”>
Do you know if there is a hack anywhere for this? I tried a hack that alows this to work in link management but I need this to work in posts and pages for so different admins can add their AIM links to different pages composed in WP.

Try adding “aim:” to the beginning of your link.
